Current Status                       Back to the GSP in SWJTU

The General Study Program is running well in Southwest Jiaotong University. There are about 20 experienced teachers in the GSP, including 6 professors, 7 associate professors, 5 lecturers and 2 foreign ESL teachers. The extensive education, solid academic background and fluent English of these teachers keep the GSP's education quality at a high level.

A total of more than 100 students were admitted to the GSP in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, respectively.  For students admitted, the highest score on the Chinese National University Entry Examination (CNUEE) was 624, and the average score was around 440. After completing the GSP, the highest GPA was 94%, and the average GPA was 81%, with a highest TOEFL score of 613 and an average of about 500.

There were approximately 72 students admitted to the GSP at SWJTU in 2004 and in 2005 who are currently studying with satisfactory progress.

Presently, 34 students who were admitted in 2002 and 2003 are studying in nine Canadian universities. The students who were admitted in 2004 will complete their study in the GSP in July 2006. They have been already admitted by several Canadian universities as transfer students at this time.
